This is my man Earl. After 46 years, this is Earl’s last day with the Henrico County Sheriff’s Department. Earl arrested me once…….
I pride myself on my immaturity and ability to prank my friends and play stupid tricks on people. I’m damn good at it. Indeed, I am competitive about it. Yet, I am man enough to admit that Earl got the best of me once! I used to own a chain of Bojangles restaurants, and as you can tell from Earl’s pic, the SOB was a frequent consumer of our products! We fed all the cops for free and Earl never missed a meal!
It was April Fool’s Day and some of the Bojangles boys conspired with Earl to come by the office. My particular office was at the end of the hall, one had to walk by all of the other offices in my company to get to mine. Earl knocks on the door, comes in and tells me that he is arresting me. He cuffs me, and then I have to walk the walk of shame past all my employees who were standing in the hallway. My mind was racing with what I could’ve done! When we got outside, Earl bust out laughing and everyone comes outside and has a good guffaw. He got me, and I respect him and the boys in the office for pulling one over on me. Way to go fellas.
I am sure in today’s overly sensitive society, there is probably some stupid ass rule about police arresting people just for the fun of it! I didn’t mind.
Earl is 74 and a really good dude. I saw him this morning at the Courthouse. Thank you ole buddy for your 46 years of service, but if I were you, I’d be looking over your shoulder bc ole Rob still owes you one!
