THE LOST ART OF WHUPPIN SOMEONE’S ASS……

So Andrew Cuomo may have bidenized some of his staffers (and others). We live in a world of too many laws and too many lawyers. The fact that a celebrity politician may have behaved boorishly is no surprise, as well as the fact that women, by making accusations, years after the alleged incident can become over night media darlings and enrich their pocketbooks. It is also no surprise that the media will have a feeding frenzy and distort whatever happened to suit their needs. Agencies of the state ( such as the NY AG’s office) will become weaponized for political purposes to unthrone political rivals. It is all quite sordid and unncessary, and it is all a result of big government attempting to replace what “CONVENTION” did quite nicely not too many years ago.
Sexual Harassment CircusI have always hated waste. I always look for the most efficacious way to solve a problem. Sexual harassment claims have become a Barnum and Bailey circus and a money making industry. It benefits a lot of sleazy people, but generally not the the most vulnerable victims of sexual harrasment. What poor secretary can afford 2 years of litigation, when there is a much easier solution.
Before the government sucked all the air out of the civic room, there was societal convention. We took care of messy business without the need to involve the “state.” Growing up in Virginia, before the great onslaught of carpet bagging immigrants, we were taught that the highest form of manhood was to be a gentleman. It didn’t matter if you were black, white, rich or poor, a man had responsibilities to treat women in a deferential way and to protect them.
sexual harassment victimGetting back to efficacy, the most effective way to “fix” the problem of sexual harrasment is to beat the “sh#t” out of the fellow who behaves badly. Over the years and on a number of occassions, I have had a lady friend call me crying about some man who broke our societal conventions and behaved badly. My response is always, “do you want me to pay him a visit?” During these encounters, I was always very civil and polite, and never had to resort to fisticuffs. Nevertheless, I am sure the perp understood that a physical altercation was possible, and no doubt knew that perhaps the lady had other gentlemen friends willing to assert themselves on her behalf. BTW, any man who abuses a woman is most likely a coward.
A couple of years ago, my daughter, living in Newport Beach, Ca. was stalked and harassed by a much older man. My 6’6″ son walked into his office, unannounced, and introduced himself by yanking the perp out of his chair, getting on top of him and giving him the necessary blows to realize that he had insulted our family, not to mention the conventions of civil society. All of the perp’s co-workers witnessed the thrashing, not to mention the perp’s screaming and wailing as he was properly punished. My daughter’s California co-workers were shocked at the violence, but she said, quite rightly, that’s the way we do things in Virginia. Indeed.
