Truth St AugustineTRUTH MATTERS.

In my last post, I stated:

“I don’t know all the details of George Floyd’s death.  However, he was an ex con, had a violent criminal past and had just been arrested for passing counterfeit $20 bills. Almost everyone across political spectrums say he was murdured. However, I am smarter than everyone else, and  I’ve seen this movie 100 times. There is always more to the story in these situations. What will the autopsy show, did he have drugs in his system, how much force was actually being applied by the officer?  These factors may  not totally exonerate the officer, but will certainly make these issues more “gray.” I will reserve judgment until all the facts are in.”

Well guess what, ROB WAS RIGHT AGAIN! The Hennepin County Medical Examiner  said “Floyd had george Floyd medical examinerunderlying health conditions, including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. A preliminary autopsy “found no evidence that George Floyd died of strangulation and traumatic asphyxia……stating [t]he combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.”

Let’s assume, as it appears likely, that Floyd was a druggie. Combine this with extensive coronary disease, and it is likely that Floyd would die under most any stressful physical situation. So does Floyd have any culpability in this? Yes. Don’t do drugs that will kill you. Don’t commit a crime that will likely lead to a phsyical alteration with the police.

george Floyd Police OfficerFloyd put himself in harm’s way. The police are not expected to check your medical history before arresting you. I don’t know how much force the officer used in placing his knee on Floyd’s neck. The medical examiner stated “no evidence” of asphyxia. I find it hard to believe that the officer would purposefully try and strangle a guy, knowing that people are watching and filming. I’d like to know if putting a knee on someone’s neck is some sort of sanctioned police policy of restraining a perp. Are there any brusies on Floyd’s neck at all?

Finally, the cop may have been a malicious and sick SOB, whose use of force was excessive, and he had or should have had some sort of knowledge about Floyd’s health,  and knew or should have known that his actions might cause bodily harm to Floyd. One factor, I would like to know is how many times the Minneapolis police have apprehended someone, cuffed him with hands behind the back and placed him on the pavement. If this has been done hundreds and thousands of times with no incident, then this would be an exonerating factor for the officer. The rule of law suffers when we have mob rule.

Facts matter. One fact is beyond dispute, ROB IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
